Tarot Cycle: February New Moon, The Magus.

Between here, Tarot Cycle post #3 and when I began in January, a dialogue started with the Tarot. I believe it began when I started to collect my thoughts and feel out the path between the Magician and the Foolish Man.

There was a path… An interesting note where the Fool is any person and he, or she, is leaving the mundane and entering the mystical along a path that mediates between the highest light perceivable and the process, that I will name as “ritual” or one of the transcendent paths that heighten consciousness, leads one out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary.

The fool is the person coming to circle, the sacred. His companion, the little dog, ever protective is the barking mind. He is the last leg of the mundane world as he steps off into nothing, you see this is the way when we do open and we step out of the “normal” world and into the magickal.

Here we find ourself in readiness and motion, preparing to take another step like the fool but this time with the skilled a prepared power of ritual, rote, and the practiced paths. Continue reading

Continuing on the energy of the new year, with all the sparkle and success of the Water Dragon, I explore the The Journey, beginning with the fool. This year I began the Tarot Cycle and I invite you to tune into the message and thread.

Today I ask myself to explore the energy of the now.

A little meditation goes a long way. I just got back from a walk around Hollenbeck Park, drinking in the early spring heat from the grass, flowers, and birds gone wild around the little artificial pond. Trixie and I spent some time on the hill overlooking the park, meditating. Continue reading

January Tarot Cycle, Part 2: The Fool.

Whenever you feel an inner sense that things don’t quite fit who you are anymore, whenever you want to contemplate a new direction, simply get quiet and venture into the world of probable futures. Imagine living out different possible futures. Challenge yourself to think positively and expansively. Learn to love uncertainty and embrace the new.

Welcome back. Thank you for returning.

January’s Tarot Cycle, Part 1: Seeking the Spiritual Other, began on the 24th and lays the groundwork for this leg of the Journey. My ideas on things like Divination and Fortune Telling, and I am determined to demonstrate the cycle in the coming months: Expanding consciousness, raising inner awareness, and setting the drum beat step in line with The Fool, where we begin the journey. These points are detailed in the previous post.  Continue reading

Shadow and Sky

Welcome to the new season of Tarot!

We are moving into a new cycle of readings. I began with daily cards, and later I had moved to Tarot Weekly readings which developed a nice following. I deeply appreciate the responses in email, comments, and from those who came to me personally with feedback and questions.

Before I begin the casting I have a few things I would like to write about this cycle. About my motivation and my method. I think it’s fair to assume that you would like that so that the reading is clear.

This cycle of the tarot I’m going to focus on the Fool, moving through the Eight paths of the Major Arcana and the message that they bring. This is the Fool’s Journey, I interpret this as an evolution, the awakening to the spirit in us all. We are The Fool and in any reading of the tarot you can see his or her interactions with the world through the people, and events great and small in the Major and Minor Arcana.  Continue reading
