Tarot Cycle: February New Moon, The Magus.

Between here, Tarot Cycle post #3 and when I began in January, a dialogue started with the Tarot. I believe it began when I started to collect my thoughts and feel out the path between the Magician and the Foolish Man.

There was a path… An interesting note where the Fool is any person and he, or she, is leaving the mundane and entering the mystical along a path that mediates between the highest light perceivable and the process, that I will name as “ritual” or one of the transcendent paths that heighten consciousness, leads one out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary.

The fool is the person coming to circle, the sacred. His companion, the little dog, ever protective is the barking mind. He is the last leg of the mundane world as he steps off into nothing, you see this is the way when we do open and we step out of the “normal” world and into the magickal.

Here we find ourself in readiness and motion, preparing to take another step like the fool but this time with the skilled a prepared power of ritual, rote, and the practiced paths.

Magician: The Magus of Power

The Magus, or magician is within the circle, and it is he or she that we become. This is our creative self that crafts the magick of our life. Our activated creator that evokes our magickal nature. The magickal being, our hidden face evoked within the place that is in-between this world and that other place. We are calling the powers, infusing the elements with spirit, working out magick into the circle.

This is bridging the etherial with the material, becoming the conduit for the idea and creating, opening and transmitting. 

This is the lesson…

Impressions

The Magician is often depicted standing before the altar, with the elemental tools, symbols of the four suites: Fire, Air, Water, Earth. These are not empty props, they are iconic of the elemental powers in the right hands, he or she who takes the energy out of the unseen and binds it to reality.

About the Magus in my reading is a host of influences, Justice, the Sun and his future incarnation as the Hierophant. There are wands and swords but lo, there  is the Tower. Our Magus stands in an eye of light. 

It is a layered and direct perception. I understand the vision, the dream of what could become, what I can achieve. It is a revelation for the path I am on now. 

The sun, communicating all that this metaphoric light revealed over the last few years, trumpets the new calling. The dance now is in two worlds. 

First I am lifting arms and swaying hips in a groove with abundant energy of invisible / visible under conditions: Awakenings. Paradigm shifts. Transformations. Revelations. The invisible world is no longer connected through such a delible bridge of connections. 

There is a method now, more than just an urge to do some action because of a feeling, there is a meaning behind it. I understand why I should follow this impulse, the importance of what I do is instinctive, it is a procession with integrity, the likes of which I could not have seen before. 

That is the magick of the Journey. 

Interpretation

The reading began with the Magus, chosen for the Lunar Cycle in the Procession of the Journey.  The spirit calls for inventiveness in reading, no formula of casting the cards and just the tug of invisible. My eyes drawn in and I see the title “Eye of Light.” 

This then is the spread. 

The Hierophant appears to discuss our potential, what we can become and he frames the Magician with the Sun, Justice, and the Tower, among minor influences of passion and feeling. Images form words create the language of the spread and I am listening to motivational details.

Do right by your self. Take what you do to the forum, the community circle, to the market and get it out there. Take idea and make something: Action, object, art, relationship, make it magickal. The adventure of the fool is metaphoric of leaving one world and entering another, yes. From static to electric, mundane to magick, but as above so below, this vitality… we must learn translate it into the elements of our craft and in channeling this, transform our working  materials into creations.

Manifest idea (spirit, inspiration, creation) with craft, artistry and grace.

I did mention some minor influences, consider the message in last months reading of the passion rising, the fire in the belly of the Fool; and how this rides up beneath the ideas we may have about life now. Being mindful of this strength, it is fire and air, energy and idea, and it together it can cleave as well as create. 

These details coming out of this part of the reading I will call “notes to self,” helping me to understand the disappointment that can arise from spent energy that can feel like waste or emotional upheaval, and focused creativity which is channeling that same energy.

This focus requires more than just releasing energy,  projecting it, or laying it out into our path and creation, it may need more expanding. More than our usual brush strokes, or hands to clay, it is call to expand, meaning to prove our own skill and mastery to our self. 

Spring time energies, rising fires, brightening solar cycles bring us up and out. Whatever the fire is it is coming forward with aggression, packed tightly in a burning burst, a blush, a flash of anger, a drive that sends the Knight of Swords forward. Good. Good, yes, but the knight is a skilled warrior, this may not be the mad rush, galloping headlong into the next phase of whatever we are doing, it is paced, practiced, and a time to hone our skill, put all the practice to test and see how well have done by  measuring our growth in our ability to go forward as a master.

No longer the journeyman. Create from the place of the envisioned future, be the Magician and craft your ritual around what you desire most about your life. 

Watch for schisms, shifts or breaks in the now and observe this… observation not aggravation. The energy is useful for manifesting the future you desire, or it can drive you to destroy what you have in order to get what you want. Knight of Swords, Justice, Tower Reversed these are underpinning the bigger picture they are balanced by two’s, which speak of connecting idea to cause, collaboration, and creating a unique you and way that you want to live you life. 

I’m not saying it will be easy but our focus will channel the life force moving through our collective lives at this time in beautiful, fantastic, or destructive ways. Our consciousness is the key. Craft movements, ritual, routines that elaborate on the future being, now.

Journey Journal: Awaken Your Light Body

I’ve been on an amazing journey

In December I completed the last meditation with DaBen and Orin, in the Awaken Your Light Body Course, by DaBen / Duane Packer, and Orin / Sanaya Roman. I’m not “done,” I don’t think that there is any finishing with this type of course and learning, but I am prepared and equipped with new tools, and variations of techniques that have expanded and deepened my own personal journey. I think that this was part of the purpose for me: Awaken. Expand. Deepen. I am integrating.

It has been a year of discovery and I wanted to extend a big thank you to the creators of the Awaken Your Light Body series, I do indeed feel more deeply connected to my personal path and through the expanded states of awareness, and integrating these into living, I feel that I’ve really shifted some of the stuck energy in my life through awareness.

My first responses to the audio journey (transmissions) and the altered states of higher consciousness that they stimulate, was immediate and emotional. I felt as if I had accelerated into a light-speed learning process. Parts of my mystery school training (Temple of Witchcraft) were essential for myself as I found that lessons from the Living Temple in harmony with the light body process.

In fact I would say that the AYLB journey’s are a return to much of my inner-journey-work from a different angle.

I had my moments great and small, intense, emotional, dreamy, far out and frustrating as I learned to flow and know in new ways. I am looking back at a profound body of work and a wonderful journey. This light work is process of heightening, deepening, and tuning your own inner faculties, and expanding them. The journey’s for the most part, are your own… This is one of the most amazing facets of the course. You learn by experiencing, observing, and allowing yourself to flow on the waves of DaBen’s toning and the music of Thaddeus, and the experience is of your making. There are guided meditations where DaBen guides us, or Orin brings us to the Temple of the Masters but still the experience and what you take from it are your creations. 

This is essentially the message that came out of me, our smallness as human beings and our greatness as connected, “spiritual” beings, more than just our ‘self.’ I found parts of me that needed to grow and that growth came in the form of recognizing and accepting memories, and states of being. Some ideas that seemed far out and “spiritual” became breathing moments of life, no longer thoughts but visceral moments of reality. I quickly realized that this was like nothing I had willed to experience before. 

I’m still thinking on whether teaching is the right path for me. I’m comfortable with the privacy and mastery within the one-on-one sessions as I teach Reiki, however if you are interested I can sponsor your learning process in experiencing the expanded states and the Light Body centers with the learning materials, audio journey’s and my experience with Awakening the Light Body. 

CHANNELING

If you are not familiar with channeling that is the first thing you must understand, Sanaya and Duane are not just receiving information from a spiritual source, they are embodied by these light beings, Orin and DaBen.

Trance channeling was very popular in American culture during the 80′s, but it much older and found all over the world in tribal practices and mystical traditions. I remember a lot of information in the form of books and classes, audio tapes and meditations when I used to hang out (and later work) at Mystic Gems in Newark, California. Books, seminars, readers, artists and musicians birthing incredible works of art by stepping aside and allowing the spirit, being, or power to flow through them unhindered.

It’s a strange experience for some and often times viewed (as most things should) with scepticism, and I mean that from an exploratory viewpoint and not doubt or disbelief. Frankly some things in the mystical world can only be experienced under certain conditions and that takes both a focused mind and what I think some people would call “belief,” that part of us that is the trusting the active part of the imagining mind.

The audio course that is AYLB is brought to you through Duane and Sanay’s channeling of DaBen and Orin.

Although most of the AYLB may seem new, the course can take you to familiar locations through different avenues and with deeper experiences. I found myself entering higher and expanded states of consciousness, deepening my sensitivity of the subtle energy levels, and achieving out-of-body experiences that I had only accidentally stumbled into, or half achieved.

This leg of the journey was amazing and it, or should I say the results of it, are flowing out into all parts of my life. In my art, writing, relationships and my approach situations in life. 

One of the aspects of the coursework that I respect is the lack of entity-worship, and/or following a leader. Orin and DaBen, Sanaya and Duane assisted in my process. Though they do a great job of advertising their coursework through a mailing list, you don’t find any knee bending. The bulk of the message from Orin and DaBen is to progress as a human being, expand your awareness, create a better you, and follow your inner master. 

Thousands of people have created many wonderful expansions of consciousness as they awakened their light body through experiencing DaBen and Orin’s guided Light Body meditations in this course. The Awakening Your Light Body course comes in 6 courses as a home-study course, complete with 12 audio journeys by Orin and DaBen for each course, and instructions that you can follow journey by journey.  You will receive transmissions by Orin and DaBen as they lead you to awaken your light body, and in addition there is extensive written material to assist you.  DaBen and Orin present an easy-to-follow, step-by-step course to assist you in experiencing higher states of consciousness; flowing emotions; heightened creativity; a greater awareness of subtle energies, the higher dimensions, beings of light, and your soul and spirit, the source and essence of your being.

The Fools Purpose

Continuing on the energy of the new year, with all the sparkle and success of the Water Dragon, I explore the The Journey, beginning with the fool. This year I began the Tarot Cycle and I invite you to tune into the message and thread.

Today I ask myself to explore the energy of the now. 

Refining

A little meditation goes a long way. I just got back from a walk around Hollenbeck Park, drinking in the early spring heat from the grass, flowers, and birds gone wild around the little artificial pond. Trixie and I spent some time on the hill overlooking the park, meditating.

Well actually, Trixie was sniffing around, I take that this is a dog’s meditation. I needed to clear my head of all the psychic clutter and (unnamed) issues I mentioned on Facebook earlier this week.  

I am now processing a few things. The clash of tumultuous ideas bent on throwing themselves together in my head. The beginning of any adventure is filled with such things and I have set my life in motion.

Two friends offered me a reading, per my Facebook status update “I need a reading” in January, with surprising similarities. I took in the information and sat with it and out came the notion of the motion. This may be how the energy comes through for you so it is important to understand your feeling, to be in touch with your gut. I received a sensation of direction and not a direction glowing like a Las Vegas arrow in the distance.

This is the reason I needed to take a break and get some perspective with a little space. Meditate, dialogue, and ask questions, that’s my way to receive answers.

Minutes after I closed my eyes, calmed, cleared and connected, I received some dialogue. While contemplating came my thoughts in the form of a reminder, to recall the original message in this year’s Tarot Cycle, the Fool is breaking away from what has been done before and walking away from the known path, or the way I have always done things. 

Most important was the sudden question, asking me to see the motivation, what is the power of this tarot key, the primary energy of The Fool?

This year begins with the Fool, not because we are a fool, but because we are honoring the rising tide of motivating energy, flowing around us. There are a few primary energies to consider.

Spring is coming. Seeds are turning beneath soil, in some places faster than others. Animals are feeling the coming rush of spring building up and as this energy rises, so does our calling to co-create, and participate! 

There is a social rush of power around equality and money; The flow of financial energy in the world.

We should also consider a few other (major) factors, noting that personal energy, relationships with family and friends, and those around us in our own world have a personal and often back entrance into our energy systems (if we are not mindful).

Yes.

Consider the amount of fear and misinformation, doubt and collective breath that is held over this particular year, 2012. What is the vibration of many-many people collectively believing that this year is an end of things as they are physically? The group mutter and fear about reality. I don’t know that is hints at anything greater than the believed Rapture that did not happen for world but, like most things, it is a watchtower for the actions and energy of people; and how that force can affect us by the direct impact of those collective thoughts (in the form of words and deeds) in our world. 

These forces, some or all, and probably a few unseen, together create the tide and tensions that we experience. It is a vast pool of potential that we can reach.

Awareness is opportunity.

This year energy begins with The Fool asking us how to come at “it” (life, the Path, your path, personal growth, that project) from another direction. To expand our conscious observation through feeling and intuition and to let reason follow and collect after we explore. 

Is the moment asking us to be Aquarian, find the inner tempo, your muse through the feeling, the surge of spring energies and through the exploration deepen your connection to now, what you are committed to, and make your own personal inquiry into your trajectory and approach to your personal fulfillment.

I suggest including a few points in that perspective and to not accept any final answer you receive in your investigation until the (inner) drum beat stops.

Choose. Expand. Find your pace. Deepen. Explore. Learn. Redress. Grow… and I sincerely hope you create Success, whatever form of prosperity that is for you. 

This was my day today and why I am here writing on the blog, looking at my projects, and most importantly, taking in the new frequencies associated with the new year.

If you, like me, are moving into and along with the new cycle of energies this year, which I am following through the Fool’s Journey in the Tarot, you have already begun to understand this principle as it is moving into front-and-center-perspective.

My reaction when I watched this was a bit of a giggle and awe. There is an inner flow happening here…

Journey Journal: To Light the Way.

Imbolc. St. Bridget. Bríde.

  • House cleaning. Check.
  • Meditation. Check.
  • A candle, a light, a flame. Check.  
  • Contemplating my desire, creativity, drive by doing, not thinking. Check. 
I never miss the day February 1st, in honor of Imbolc, and for me in respect to the fire and light within myself rising out of the hush of winter and spiraling towards spring. 
Well… as Winter as it gets in Los Angeles, some people are hip deep in snow. Regardless of the moderate seasons I experience, my gut is with the Cycle and change. Planet, people, things are in some season, north, south, east and west. I do my thing. Clean house. I mean really get in and dust, and scrub. Wipe things down, including my altar and creative space. Get into thing and organize. 
I like it. 
Next I bring in the smoke and flame, incense, water, candle and salt. I do this all to make way for light, for the Goddess  Bríde, or Bridget. She represents the light of new life coming in. This time is more than just cleaning, which in itself does a great thing by clearing up the mental and physical clutter, and giving everything a nice feel, it is preparing for this vitality of life. To make way for the living energies, to light the way into the vernal energies just around the bend.
I want to invite something new into my house, a renewal, a spirit of life returning; passion, love, peace, prosperity, health and well-being. This is what I invite in on Imbolc. This is what the day means for me.
It may be off the cuff, a derivative of paths and pagan practices but it is the way I do things; and the older I get the more unfettered I become. It sort of dovetails into my posts on the Tarot Cycle: The Foolish Man. 
Any-who. Here’s hoping that you consider what’s to come by preparing for it now. Light the way for yourself.
